We have dozens of roosters at Hatch Show Print, in all shapes and sizes, because the rooster was the early mid 20th century mascot for the shop, along with the slogan “We Crow About Our Prompt Service.” Mr. Hatch’s bookkeeper, Mae Cook Fulton, who had recently left employment at a dynamite factory, was protective of her reputation as an attractive young lady and did not want gentleman callers to think she worked at a place where chickens lay eggs. She suggested the name include ‘printers’. They met in the middle with Mr. Hatch keeping his rooster and Mai Cook keeping her dignity. Available in black or blue.
