Detailed Description
On January 18, 1975, in his carriage-house studio in Kansas City, Thomas Hart Benton put the last brushstrokes on his painting The Sources of Country Music. The mural had been commissioned by the Country Music Hall of Fame for display in our original museum on Music Row. Today, it hangs in the Rotunda at the current Hall of Fame, in a place of honor, along with the commemorative plaques of all of the inductees. Benton's interest in country music was great; he, himself, was a gifted musician, as well as a collector of American folk tunes. Our 11" x 17" poster of this monumental work is suitable for framing, and remains a lively visualization of life and country music in America. This is a unique keepsake for the country music lover, as well as fans of Thomas Hart Benton, a major American artist (1889–1975).
